Veep şi Povestea Slujitoarei (Handamaid`s Tale) au fost producţiile premiate la Emmy 2017 pentru cel mai bun serial de comedie, respectiv, cel mai bun serial dramatic, la cea de-a 69-a ediţie a premiilor, decernate duminică seara.
Povestea slujitoarei, produs de Hulu și difuzat în România de HBO și HBO GO, a mai atras și premiile pentru cea mai bună actriță (Elisabeth Moss) și cea mai bună actriță într-un rol secundar (Ann Dowd ).
Povestea Slujitoarei este o adaptare după romanul distopic cu același nume semnat de Margaret Atwood.
Platforma Netflix a avut multe nominalizări însă puține premii. John Lithgow a fost premiat cu un Emmy pentru rolul lui Winston Churchill din The Crown, producție marca Netflix. Și Black Mirror a fost premiat la categoria cel mai bun film TV. Aceeași producție a mai fost recompensată și la secțiunea cel mai bun scenarist al unui film TV, pentru episodul “San Junipero,” al lui Charlie Brooker.
